I saw this today from Getelastic.com basically showing shopping satisfaction of shopper in their age groups shopping online vs in store. What was found was surprising: shoppers are happier buying online.
Here is my hypothesis: Although you can't touch/feel the product you can look at user reviews, price compare and look at similar products. So you buy knowing you have the best product in your hand. This clearly doesn't apply to everyone. What if the in store experience were to include those things? Imagine using your Google Glasses to see what the review was for a certain product while shopping. My guess is, that would be the ultimate in shopping satisfaction.
