Pinterest and Your Business

It was during some consulting with when I learned about Pinterest.com.  I found a large portion of vistors were coming into an intimates ecommerce site called Journelle from this new site called Pinterest.  So, we too decided to go and give it a shot to increase our traffic.  After we invested very little time and energy into promoting the items we also saw a great jump in traffic.

Although conversions were not spectacular, the jump in traffic was fantastic to increase the companies brand identity at a time when they desperately needed.  This was our experience: Pinterest users loved one particular dress and we saw over a thousand visits to that products page.  However, not a single one of them actually purchased the item.

Before you dedicate your resources to this new phenomenon, remember that it may not bring you all of the conversions you are hoping for.  These are window shoppers who help you get the word out.
